Hi Alex and all, do u know if Celine made a Mini luggage in black crocodile stamped lambskin leather? I just bought 1 pre-used through ebay but wondering about its authenticity now. Thanks.
For as far as I know, they have the luggage in crocodile stamped, how much did you paid and how does the leather feels like? Cheap or strong?
Hi Alex, I paid USD1640 for the 2nd hand bag. But I’ve since done further comparisons and also brought the bag to the original Celine store. The SA opined that the bag I bought does not feel authentic. The inner lining feels like PVC rather than lambskin, the zipper does not have a number ‘8’, the winged part of the bag is shorter than the Mini luggages in the store etc. The exterior of the bag feels strong but it’s not crocodile skin, it’s croc embossed leather (for this point, I knew the seller meant croc embossed pattern on leather and not real croc skin). The seller also provided me the paper tag stating that it’s a Cabas 100% Lambskin when the bag’s design is a celine luggage and not a Celine Cabas! Anyway, I’ve managed to get a refund after several email correspondences with eBay. However, the seller is still adamant that the bag she sold me is authentic. Perhaps, she really didn’t know better. I’m replying her to inform her all the “peculiarities” of her bag once again.
I am so happy that you got your money back, you should be very careful, sometimes its hard to get your money back. There was an article about fake products on Ebay, some sellers are aware that they are fake, but even when they are told that is fake, in most cases they will be defensive to protect the creditability of their accounts. Do you perhaps have a pic., I am going to feature this story on our site, to help other avoid the same mistake. Btw, you got really lucky that the SA took time to authentic for you, because most boutiques will reject such service. And also, this is the reason why it is so hard to authentic a bag with only images.
Hi Alex, thanks for ur reply. I’m soooo relieved that I got my money back. My claim was unsuccessful initially until I requested for a review. I wish to clarify that the SA couldn’t formally authenticate the bag for me but she looked at it, touched it and gave me her personal opinion, I was indeed very lucky that she even assisted & attended to me.. I’ve sent you an email with 10 photos of the bag. Pls let me know if u require more info. Cheers!
