I would like to buy the Mini rectangular A69900 or square A35200 in Spain, as I live here and I’m not planning to travel anywhere soon.
I had the intention to buy it in Paris as I’ve been there at the beginning of august, but my “shopping” experience couldn’t have been more disappointing! I went to Rue Royal Chanel store to ask some informations about small and mini classic flap bags and if possible buy mine. At that moment I didn’t know this site or some others where very helpful people share a lot of information (thank you guys!) but I didn’t think that buying a bag at a luxury shop required a lot of previous research and I imagined that sales assistants would do their job better. The shop was crowded, but at least we didn’t have to queue in the outside of the store as in Laffayete Chanel corner. As I’ve mentioned the SA was not helpful at all, she seemed not to understand (neither in english nor french) what I was talking about. She tried to persuade me to buy a cheap looking patent leather bag and when she finally realized that I didn’ want that bag, all the infos she gave to me were wrong according to yours.
So now, before going to the Chanel store here in Spain, I would like to have all my doubts solved if possible.
1. Do you know if any of these items (MINI rectangular A69900 or square A35200) are available in black caviar with GHW?
2. Is any of them discontinued right now?
3. Are both of them seasonal items?

HI Ainhoa, sometimes SA can give wrong information or speculation like date of price increases, but I don’t think they get information from the headoffice. What they do have is a card where all the names, price, style codes and sizes are written on it, they have all the information about you need. But advice depends on the SA taste, if they are not familiar with designer brands like Hermes, Chanel… or update themselves about the latest bag releases and what’s going on in fashion (because this is not their passion), then yes they can give wrong advice.
Chanel boutique in Paris are crowded, mostly weekends and Friday. They don’t have time to give everyone attention. And lots of bags that you dream about are sold-out, so they recommend other bags. And you do need to conduct a research before you enter the Chanel boutique, a lots of their bags are just labeled: ‘Chanel classic flap bag’ on the tags, which can be very confusing.
1. The mini squared are available in black caviar and GHW (This is the classic style), but whether the boutique get stock is another question mark. We have a picture of the extra mini bag on the forum.
2. Do you mean the style or color? Colors depend on the season. The extra mini and mini squared are both def. not discontinued.
3. Colors yes, but the item itself no no, some classic colors are still available no matter in what season you are in. Classic black is one of them.

Hi Alex. That’s not how it works. Each passport are entitled to purchase one handbag only. Example you can buy one maxi caviar in gold hardware only. If you need to buy two of the exact specification, you need to use another passport. For smaller leather goods such as the WOC, each passport can buy up to 4 of different kinds, example one WOC in black caviar and another WOC in black Lambskin. Under each passport, you are NOT allowed to purchase 2 exact same items.

That is strange Alex. I am from Singapore and I travel to Europe every other month and often shop at Chanel stores. I am in close contact with one of the Chanel Sales Director of Europe and she clearly explained to me on Chanel policies. One passport, 2 different bags or 4 different small leather goods. Anyone above 18 years old can make a purchase and it does not matter if you come as a group, a pair or family. So if anyone has been treated unfairly, do write in to Chanel. Sometimes, SA does not want to entertain a big group of tourists as they would make other genuine customers waiting too long to be served. In the sales industry “Customers are always right!” 🙂
