If you fear that they might not have the bag you want, visit the store (Vienna) on Tuesday as they restock their bags on either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. Hope this helps.

Lambskin and caviar are the most popular choices. Lambskin is a soft and chic leather, but not durable (can easily get scratched). Caviar is hard, less chic, but more durable. Caviar is heavier than lambskin.
Distressed is often used on Chanel 2.55, because the style is to look like it’s worn.

You question should be; do I want lambskin or caviar? Caviar obviously is heavier and more durable. Calfskin too.
I’m not sure how helpful this will be, but I have the distressed 226 (large) in gray with gunmetal chain. I love it! Lambskin makes me too nervous, so I’ve always leaned towards the caviar and distressed. Both so far are durable.

I assume it’s per year, other wise you can travel to US and then come back. That doesn’t count. BMB members usually buy in Paris because of tax-refund.

One store had it in dark red, another had it in light pink. One did have it in black, but it was more square instead of rectangular. All the other stores don’t have it at all! Yikes! 🙁
Send an email to Chanel customer service, you can check in their stock system, I’ve done this before with other brands. But Mini flaps are seasonal bags, it’s possible that the black in lambskin shw is not available.

Hi Kate, thanks for stopping buy. The prices in US are indeed higher, because of currency differences. The GST is also available in Heathrow airport in the tax-free area (ex-VAT), available for non or eu-citizen. But the only isue you will have is: ‘do they have in stock’. You can give them a call, they do 24-hour reservation.

1/2: It’s more important to get the bag you want, than where you buy it. But I would rather buy in London as Chanel is enforcing 1 bag per passport rule in Paris. If you are with friends, I recommend you entering the store alone, buy the jumbo and then ask your friend to make another purchase seperated.
3. London and Paris = 12%. If you buy in London Chanel boutique, you apply in Paris, but get tax-refund from the store in London.
4. I heard that multiple times too, it’s true. If you already got your tax-refund back, you don’t need to apply again in London.
5. Doesn’t really matter, as long as you get it back.

This is because in Italy, the tax refund is 14% (tax premier) where as in Paris or any other European countries, it’s only 12% (in Galleries Lafayette in Paris it’s only 10% if you want it in cash 🙁 ) Tax refund is usually 12% in Europe but min. purchase varies depending on the country you are in. 2. Florence Chanel has the best stock you’ll ever find in Italy! They almost have everything! I’ve been to all Chanel shops in Italy (Rome, Venice, Milan, Florence) and Florence was the best in terms of availability. 🙂
