Oh yes, we are obsessed and the boy bag deserve it. But our conversation have switched recently, now the Chanel easy flap (or you can call it the basic flap) is one of our hottest discussion. But the easy flap remain a mystery, we couldn’t find much information about it! So Bragmybag decided to make a change…
We sourced the entire web and couldn’t find much information even on other blogs and the Official Chanel website. We decided to do our own research. Keep reading because this can be very interesting. Here’s what we found:
Let’s start with the basic. Please welcome the Chanel classic flap in taupe on your left and salute the Chanel easy caviar flap in black on your right. Notice any difference? Allow us to clarify:
1. Both bags has the double CC turn-style lock. You see?
2. Both leather style are very similar. You can get the easy flap in caviar and lambskin.
3. From the design perspective, there isn’t much difference. Or did I missed something?
4. Both has leather interwoven between the chain links. BUT, the Chanel easy flap has a leather handle on the top. Can you see? Can you see?
Oh, I am getting excited. Let me open another door for you.
On the top, the Chanel jumbo classic flap (double flap) in blue. On the bottom, the Chanel easy flap in black again. Isn’t it obvious? The inner closure. You close the Chanel jumbo classic flap by pressing the button. Click! The easy flap has a zipper.
I was very disappointed that Chanel has discontinued the Chanel east/west flap. Then Chanel introduce a new bag, the Chanel 3, which looked similar to the Chanel jumbo flap, but not quite yet. Now Chanel has introduce the easy flap and it’s oh-so-easy, let me show you why.
The Chanel easy flap cost: 1,530 GBP (spotted in London), around 1,800 EUR. It’s available in lambskin and caviar, golden hardware and silver hardware. You can pick the blue, beige or black. Size is 25 cm in length. The easy flap is an excellent substitute for the Chanel classic flap. The medium classic flap is already priced around 2,670 GBP, can you see the huge gap in price?
Even if we forget about the price, I still love the easy flap. It’s simply gorgeous and a must have for any girl who want to own a Chanel flap. This is your time, it’s waiting for you at the Chanel boutique. This is the ultimate Chanel treat.
One more thing, the Chanel easy flap is from the spring/summer 2013 collection. The style code is: A67742

Hi Deb, I still hear from people that they have bought this bag in Chanel store, so I think its still available. But it should be seasonal and discontinued right now. Some boutique, however, still has stock. But I am sure that the coco rider is still available. If you read our comments, this bag (the easy flap) should cost $3,100 USD for the jumbo.

Hello there, I live near San Francisco, originally from Europe. I just got a medium classic Chanel in light beige caviar. I love it! But one sales lady at the store told me I should have got a Celtic black boy in this engraved design, because it is more versatile! What do you think? Better classic or Boy Bag? It seems though classic bags disappear instantly for reason! And any opinions caviar versus lambskin? I would love to hear from any Chanel experts.
Hi Margarite, if this is your first Chanel bag, I always recommend the classic. Many chanel boy bags are seasonal bounded and there is always another chance to get the boy. So your classic medium flap is a good choice.

I am after a black boy bag & will be in Paris in September – do you think they will have any stock?
The boy bags are never easy to get in Europe, it’s hard to say if they have the black one in stock. But you should pick a couple of alternative colors, in case they don’t have the black.
It’s also better to shop Chanel on monthday, tuesday than friday and the weekends, particular in Paris, imo.

I have just purchased the easy flap bag in black. In London Chanel in South Kensington it was £1865 its fabulous. it only comes in the silver though but all the same looks great so so pleased with it. Thank you for this website.

It’s black. With silver hardware. The SA told me this particular one didn’t come in the gold option. On the sales receipt the code is a67442 so assuming it is the easy flap. It certainly looks like it. Maybe as its the larger size.

Went to Harrods yesterday no more stock for easy flap. They have new collections similar to easy flap. Something like cc crave,for m/l size £1700 jumbo £1900

Overpriced? What’s a Chanel bag’s correct price? The easy flap is of course not as famous as the Chanel classic bag, but you pay for a lower price and get a bag that quite similar. And on the top of that, the easy flap looks gorgeous.
Did she told you what bag she would bought instead of the easy flap?
BTW, if you have bought a Chanel classic abg four/five years ago, and when you compare the price prior to the price increases, then of course you will think its expensive. But who knew Chanel would double their classic flap prices in that short period of itme.
Thats very true, she has the classic but bought it when chanel’s prices were much lower i think she paid around £1200 for her classic…….I wish.

p.s the cc crave is lovely i saw it in the chanel boutique. It was a hard choice went for the flap as more classic looking but its a definate for the next chanel purchase
Some people who bought Chanel bags a long time ago are flaunting because they got a bargain and you don’t. But the fact is that Chanel classic bag cost $4k+ and if you compare to the easy flap, it worth every single dime. SA told us the price increase will be in december. But you never know, Chanel might decide to increase price tomorrow morning.

hi, I got my easy flap silver grey calf skin at Paris on 23 May 2013. Saw both rue cambon and Lafayette got that bag on the day. But when I went to Berlin on 1 June can’t find the bag anymore. Is it discontinued?
Hi Susu, just head that the pre-fall 2012 collection has released. They might not re-stock it anymore, because the season is over. But some bags, because of its popularity do come back. I hope Chanel will continue to sell it.
Hi there. I’m in Paris now. Looked for classic medium flap bag, but it’s not available even in Milan. So, the shopper assistant suggested CC Crave & i loved it! It’s not too small & not too big…just enough for me! I’m a happy girl to have my very 1st Chanel bag…also bought Chanel shades, Chanel lipstick & Chanel chance perfume. :-):
