If you have a hard time of gather money to buy your first Chanel classic flap bag, your dream bag, then consider the GST. It’s as useful as the classic flap and much bigger. The price is much lower too, which means you get a great value for money. But you really want to stick with the classic flap or the reissue 2.55, Chanel PST, Chanel GST and even to the Cerf tote to make sure you have a Chanel classic in your wardrobe.

Now there’s new GST which is XL GST which is slightly bigger n wider than the GST…can’t decide which to buy yet and this will be my 1st chanel bag…I’m a mom of 2 kids..if I buy the XL GST

Hi Fayla, think about the bag in terms of you. Which one do you love more. Your kids will eventually grow up and the GST is one time buy and for always.
(p.s. don’t listen to men. My gf got a Chanel maxi from her bf, because he thought more bang for the bucks (because the size is bigger). But her gf loved the jumbo and was a bit disappointed to see the maxi. When she wanted it to change, the price has already increased).
Get the GST, not the XL. Seems like you want the XL because of the functionality. I would rather carry the GST and a simple large bag for the diaper and water etc… than sacrifice the beauty and the classy look of the bag I love. Personal opinion.

Only wanted to share an update on GST as i asked my best friend to buy me one on her trip to London last week. The first day she arrived, she went straight to Harrods and got from one of the 3 Chanel boutiques in Harrods, London. She paid £1600 for the price of the bag but did cash refund right away after the purchase and received £208 cash back, so this is like getting this bag for £1400. Oh it’s Caviar leather in SHW, btw 🙂 just curious to know what is this leather made of, anyone?
Hi PD, love your story and congratulations with your new bag. Caviar feels like the Caviar is calfskin but with grains, if you google it they will say it’s made of Stingray skin. But what makes Chanel different is that they have their own way of crafting the caviar leather. If you look at other bags that are named ‘caviar’, you will notice there is a different with Chanel caviar, that’s why your bag is so unique.

That’s true, but it depends per country. It seems that Amsterdam have more supply due to less demand than in Paris. If you go to Paris, you need to get in list. but if you are lucky enough to find the GST in SHW in Amsterdam, then you can buy it instantly.
