It includes the VAT for € & £. I just bought the Chanel classic flap bag in Italy and it costs €3,550. I took the VAT claim which is 13%. So after the VAT claim, it came to €3088.50. Hope that helps

Either purchase here in Australia and claim the tax prior to leaving for Hawaii OR purchase in Hawaii – not 100% sure what one is best due to potential price increases & AUD-USD, plus any costs of bringing the bag back to Aus if I purchase in Hawaii.. Actually the Chanel Reissue 2.55 Classic Flap Bag has more history than the Classic Flap Bag (double flap), in fact, the Reissue 2.55 is the exact same version that Coco Chanel made in February 1955 (this is where the 2.55) came from. Later on, Karl Lagerfeld made another version, which is inspired by the 2.55 reissue flap bag, this version is named the Classic Flap Bag (double flap).
What the 2.55 Reissue has is the mademoiselle lock (instead of the CC), the mademoiselle lock is made in reference to Coco Chanel never marrying. It’s also a beautiful bag, but whether you want to buy the 2.55 or the Classic Flap Bag, it’s just a personal preference.

Hi, Been off for a while on this subject. I’ve received a prompt reply from Chanel KL not from Milan as they redirected my enquiry to Malaysia (I’m a Malaysian). This is part of what they wrote:
“The 2.55 handbag in black grained calfskin that you had purchased at our Milan boutique is from the Autumn Winter 2014 seasonal collection. It is not a limited edition but a seasonal collection that is only available while stock lasts with no restock/reproduction option.”
So its seasonal, are you happy with it or you like the distressed leather more?
Hi Alex, I don’t really like the distressed leather when Chanel SA showed me last time. I don’t know… I think they just pulled out from the cupboard that it wasn’t well represented and didn’t really catch my eyes back then. But, they seem to look nice in other colors like silver or gold.
Now, I’m obsessed with a blue chanel boy large in calfskin! Heard the price will increase again in April, some say May. Any idea which month exactly. Will be going to Europe again in May!
Hi Wen, you should only purchase the bag when you’re absolutely sure you love it, so you made the right decision. About the Chanel price increase, I think within 3/4 months there will be an increase, there are still rumors going on, so nobody is sure, even the SA do not know. However, Chanel just increased the price of the boy bag a couple months ago, only the boy’s not the other classics. So Perhaps the next price increase will not affect the boy bag. Finger crossed!
