Chanel uses Premier Tax which gave 14% refund at the airport. If I were to choose credit the refund to my CC the amount would be the same. I also purchase Prada and Burberry, which they both used Global Blue tax agent. The refund for those two is 12%.
It looks to me that store has it own policy to choose their agent. BTW. The tax on the receipt are 22% which only 12-14 return back to us a foreigner.
The second time I went to Chanel within that week, I spotted a nice pink classic, would love to send the picture here but I dont know how. Thank you for all the info which had enable me getting my bag:)

You can certainly do it at the airport in Milan, also in Paris. You need to ask the SA for tax-refund doc. then get a stamp by the custom at airport, then go to an tax-refund affiliate company like Global Blue tax agent, the SA can tell you more about it.

Yes you can get tax back for ‘all’ the designer bags you buy in Paris, in Paris its around 12 – 13%. Don’t forget to ask the SA for the tax-refund documents (you need them for the custom). You can buy in Paris one and in Italy one and then apply for tax-refund in Italy for both bags, When you are within the European Union, it’s all fine.

The sales tax is built in in the selling price, so €1950 is already included 22% tax. I figured out compare to US, the bottom line price in Italy is 20% cheaper than in Italy after taking into account tax we pay in the US and tax refund we get back in Italy.

It’s a small (seasonal in coral color). I am not sure you guys already know this …the TAXES on the bag 20%…yes that’s right 20% and you only get 11% of it back. So I am not sure when people say “you get the tax back” seems like technically you don’t get all back…still have to pay that 9%.
Hi Rami, if the bag cost 100 and the tax is 19%, then the bag will cost 119 euro + tax.
But if you calculate back, going from 119 to 100 euro, then you need to 119 – 16% = 100 euro.
So basically the tax-refund is 16 percent, but you need to pay administration and other fee’s too. What’s left is around 11 – 12%

I live in Malaysia and haven’t been successful in getting a chanel boy from the boutique here. Plus the price is more expensive 🙁 I couldn’t travel due to work but I saw that a reseller (my only option) is listing it for £2480 and I am guessing the extra amount is for the shipping. Knowing the UK price lets me know that I’m not going to pay too much for it.

I just came back from Paris, I was lucky enough to find quilted chanel boy medium in black at the first Chanel boutique I walked into ( the one on Rue Royale, ask for Caroline – the best SA at that store) and it cost 2870 € on 3.3.2014. I’m guessing they just got the new collection that week. Hope this info will help if someone is looking for that bag 🙂

Boy CHANEL medium small flap: A92104
Boy CHANEL medium medium flap: A92105
Boy CHANEL medium large flap: A92106
Usually they re-stock at mondays, that’s what the SA told us. The boy quilted medium in black is the most coveted bag, that’s why its sold-out very quickly. It’s hard to say if they will have stock, not even the SA can guarantee.

Hi Penelope, its very common to get 14% VAt return in Italy because (I think the admintration fee is less), you can apply for tax-refund on the airport, the custom can guide you through this process.
For the medium/large classic flap bag, the leather commonly picked is caviar. Caviar is more durable than lambskin. But lambskin is lighter and softer. We haven’t heard any price increase yet, so we assume the prices are still the same. 3.100 eur is included VAT (tax), you need to deduct 14% VAT return.
Tax refund is only for non-eu citizen, are from europe?

Sorry for the late reply, we only saw the price of the small size, but not the large size. The price of Paris and London are quite the same, but Heathrow is cheaper because the Chanel boutique is located at the tax-free area.
