Oh yes, we are obsessed and the boy bag deserve it. But our conversation have switched recently, now the Chanel easy flap (or you can call it the basic flap) is one of our hottest discussion. But the easy flap remain a mystery, we couldn’t find much information about it! So Bragmybag decided to make a change…
We sourced the entire web and couldn’t find much information even on other blogs and the Official Chanel website. We decided to do our own research. Keep reading because this can be very interesting. Here’s what we found:
Let’s start with the basic. Please welcome the Chanel classic flap in taupe on your left and salute the Chanel easy caviar flap in black on your right. Notice any difference? Allow us to clarify:
1. Both bags has the double CC turn-style lock. You see?
2. Both leather style are very similar. You can get the easy flap in caviar and lambskin.
3. From the design perspective, there isn’t much difference. Or did I missed something?
4. Both has leather interwoven between the chain links. BUT, the Chanel easy flap has a leather handle on the top. Can you see? Can you see?
Oh, I am getting excited. Let me open another door for you.
On the top, the Chanel jumbo classic flap (double flap) in blue. On the bottom, the Chanel easy flap in black again. Isn’t it obvious? The inner closure. You close the Chanel jumbo classic flap by pressing the button. Click! The easy flap has a zipper.
I was very disappointed that Chanel has discontinued the Chanel east/west flap. Then Chanel introduce a new bag, the Chanel 3, which looked similar to the Chanel jumbo flap, but not quite yet. Now Chanel has introduce the easy flap and it’s oh-so-easy, let me show you why.
The Chanel easy flap cost: 1,530 GBP (spotted in London), around 1,800 EUR. It’s available in lambskin and caviar, golden hardware and silver hardware. You can pick the blue, beige or black. Size is 25 cm in length. The easy flap is an excellent substitute for the Chanel classic flap. The medium classic flap is already priced around 2,670 GBP, can you see the huge gap in price?
Even if we forget about the price, I still love the easy flap. It’s simply gorgeous and a must have for any girl who want to own a Chanel flap. This is your time, it’s waiting for you at the Chanel boutique. This is the ultimate Chanel treat.
One more thing, the Chanel easy flap is from the spring/summer 2013 collection. The style code is: A67742

Hi J.J., not sure if they have more sizes, I assume it’s one size, because it’s a seasoning bag. The price is around 1,800 euro. Paris has more than 10 boutiques, make sure you don’t arrive on friday and leave on sunday, because that’s the busiest time.
Hi sassy… Love u blog to the max… it is so informative and useful especially to those newbies of chanel.. I just got my 1st chanel -GST with shw on April’13… When I see this easy flap, is so gorgeous and I seems like cant resist to get this piece for myself too, moreover the price is almost half the price of the classic flap.. Do you have any idea what’s the price in euro ( for jumbo & medium) as my Aunty going to Italy end of this month, might get her to get 1 for m , undecided should go for medium or jumbo…do you think this piece is worth to invest?? Let me see, the jumbo is right now €3,450 in Paris and the medium is €3,100. Vialan, first, where are you from? If you go for the medium and jumbo, I wouldn’t buy another easy flap. I will be saving up for the reissue 2.55. But is the medium or jumbo worth your money, oh yes it is worth it.
Oooopsss… M I misleading you sassy… What I meant is do u have any idea of the prices for easy flap bag ( they do have medium & large size right?)… Im so adore the classic flap bag but their price is at the high side which I can’t afford it at the moment. Om my, that’s not an easy question. If you can get to the classic flap anytime soon, I will buy the Chanel classic flap, because the easy flap is a seasoning bag and the classic is timeless. But then again if it takes too long to save, you might get stucked if Chanel decide to increase prices. So how long do you think it will take for you?
Yah.. Totally agreed with you.. Classic is timeless ..classic is unbeatable … I guess I still need a year to save the $$ to get the classic flap, by that time I’m not sure how high the classic flap price will hit to…so I’m in dilemma now, need some solid advice from you, sassy… My Aunty will go to Italy this month end, and myself planning to London by end of next year .. The chanel price in London is it as cheaper as get from Europe? Thanks
If you really LOVE the Chanel classic flap and you are going to buy it anyway, but you need to save it, why not buy it in Europe right now. If you aunt it going to Italy this month, she can get tax-refund which make it a couple hundred dollar cheaper. You need to save even more in Malaysia. And waiting until next year, do you think you can survive so long? =P
Btw, I’m from Malaysia. Chanel’s price here is 20%-30% higher compare to Europe… Hence it is worth to buy from Europe..
…. Now I am understanding, because I had the GBP in my mind. But if the Chanel prices is 30% higher, means you need to save more. So buying in Europe is the best, but are you going to travel to Europe this year?

I’m going to HK in July and I heard that the Chanel Classic bag are usually not displayed or it has to be pre-ordered. Is this true? I really want to have one and I have no idea if I have to call the shop months before to make sure that I’ll be able to purchase one for myself.
No you don’t have to preorder the classic bag. Just walk into the Chanel boutique and ask what colour and sizes they have in the store and I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to help you.

No, they usually don’t display, but not all Chanel classic has to be pre-ordered. I went to Paris a few months ago and they didn’t had the jumbo classic in black shw in store, but they did had the jumbo in beige or the black in maxi shw. They have in stock, but if you want to make sure they have the bag you want, pre-order or give a call to reserve. Classic flap usually go out of stock quickly, especially in HK.
Which one are you planning to buy?
I have bought from chanel hong kong…usually classics are displayed at all times…jus not all the sizes..I remembered asking the sa n was told they have at least 10 of each diff size in stock.
You might consider buying from hong kong airport as could be cheaper duty free…check out store before heading to immigration.
I haven’t decided yet. I just want the classic one. I’m really not sure about the size though. What do you think is the most practical size?

I think the jumbo version is great, not too big and not too small. Most of our readers pick the jumbo. But you should try the medium too. BTW, where are you from?

They should, they should!! Maybe just give them a call, you can find the style code on the bottom of the article. Given the price in GBP, I guess it should be around 2,500 AUD. Keep me informed when you are going to buy the bag.

Hi I just bought an ivory easy flap in jumbo on friday and that was the last piece. However they still have a black in the medium ( 10inches ) for $3,100.
Got the last jumbo piece ( 12 Inches) on friday from perth store for $3, 333. However they still have one black in medium ( 10 inches ) for $3, 100. I must say Aussies pay a higher premium so I guess to do with other taxes n freight.

Saw it in store last month, Nordstrom channel boutique. Might sold out fast. Though we love the classic one better
The easy flap is not similar to the classic. But it has it’s own flaw and it’s half the price of the classic flap.
