What can get you more excited than knowing that the iconic Alma Bag has transformed into the Louis Vuitton Alma Shoulder Bag. Created as a part of the Spring Summer 2018 Collection, the Alma Bag has a lengthy history rooted back to 1925. Yes, that’s how long the Alma Bag has excited.

It was Gabrielle Chanel who requested Louis Vuitton to design this bag, but it she didn’t gave permission to manufacture for the general public until years later. The Alma Bag was originally named Square, but it was ultimately changed to Alma, which was taken from the name Place De L’Alma, the location where Avenue Montaigne meets the Seine River.

The Design

The Alma Shoulder Bag looks quite similar to the Tote Bag, but some critical components are missing. However, let’s covers the similar components first. The shape of the Alma Shoulder Bag looks very much like the Tote Bag, both are designed with nice curvy body as well as double zippers. The bottom looks the same as well.

Now what is not the same?

The Alma Tote Bag comes with double handle for hand carry, but it also comes with a long leather strap for cross body and shoulder bag carry. So the question we have is: ‘if we can buy the tote bag, which includes a shoulder-option, then why should we buy the Alma Shoulder Bag?’. The answer is simple – the style is slightly different, but the price is also less expensive than the Tote Bag version.

The Alma Shoulder Bag comes with a double zip, but it includes long leather strap with knot. Below the zippers feature the house’s logo, printed on a leather patch. The shoulder strap is partly made in chain but reinforced with leather strap for shoulder comfort.

And there is one more thing; the Alma Shoulder Bag doesn’t include the iconic LV Lock, which is really disappointing.
