– Chanel Flap Bag means a bag with a flap
– Chanel timeless bag means a bag that’s timeless, which means you can carry it today, tomorrow and ten years later, it will still be a famous bag. It’s just a term.

Chanel 2.55 does not exists anymore, this bag was made by Coco Chanel. Before Karl Lagerfeld took over Chanel, there are many variations of the Chanel 2.55. So Karl Lagerfeld decided to dismiss them all and re-introduce the Chanel 2.55 just as Coco Chanel designed it. And he called it, the Chanel 2.55 Reissue Flap Bag.

I would recommend brand new. The style is just different than vintage, IMO more beautiful. It’s something you will buy once and its literally forever yours. This bag also holds a lot of value and it increases over the years because it becomes more expensive. Yes, medium classic flap (although the small size is lovely too)…hardware has to be gold for me (altho I know it’s more likely to discolour & chip) & am not very keen on the caviar finish (altho I know it’s more durable).
That’s very interesting that you prefer brand new…do u really think the newer ones look better than vintage…are there any style differences? I’m undecided…largely due to the price difference between new & vintage but at the same time am obviously drawn to the ‘forever just mine’ factor (followed by my daughter,who is 9 at the moment!).
I have 3 vintage Chanel bags-a pink quilted crossbody with gold hardware (love this!) a white mini crossbody (from the discontinued rue cambon range) & a mini tan shoulder bag with gold hardware (way too small to be practical but sooooo cute!). So maybe the cream of Chanel (classic flap) should be purchased brand new..best save extra hard/long then!! 🙂

About the Chanel Classic Flap Bag, here’s one more reason to get it. This bag will always be the House’s Iconic Bag, it’s like the Queen of all Chanel flap bags. And because of this, it’s the perfect bag to give to your daughter in the future. Especially if you keep in mind that this bag will increase in value over time, which means it will become very valuable.
I agree with your leather choice btw, either caviar or lambskin are fine. Caviar is more durable but lambskin feels really luxurious. This is just personal choice.

The price of the all black classic flap bag is the same like the all black chevron classic flap bag. But it;s not the same price as the normal hardware like gold or silver.
