Hi Charlene, I do not have experience in Prada, but I know this works in Louis Vuitton, you can buy in Paris and then exchange it in anywhere around the world as long as it is in their boutique. But if you want to return it, this can only be done in the same boutique you bought it. I belief this is also the same with Prada.

You get more tax-refund in Rome than in Paris. Saffiano totes will be priced €1.200 – €1.400, depending on the leather and color. And the B1336: €1.850.

Price depend on the resellers. The BN1801 is priced at €1.420 and it should be the same in Greece. I am not sure about Hungary, I don’t think they have a boutique over there, but resellers.

The saffiano tote bag is a great bag, it holds and has a great style. I haven’t heard anyone using the bag shaper, it’s the first time I heard that. But are you planning to get the Saffiano?
Yes I do plan on getting one! I’ve been eyeing the Saffiano bn2274. However, the prices are kinda throwing me off. The Neiman Marcus website sells the bags but their prices are different from the Prada online store: $1810 vs 1995. Or maybe I’m reading the dimensions wrong, what are the dimensions to the Prada bn2274?
Must be the upgrade version. I don’t have record about the B1407L, they have just released it. It’s the same like the BN prada saffiano tote, they keep making new ones, but then better. The overall style was still the same.
Hi Purelove, forget about the Fuchsia mini, maybe try another color or the Prada Tessuto Gaufre. I just talked to our favo SA of Dior and they told me that you can’t find the small in Fuchsia mini in Rome and Paris. In these two cities, only the large version is available.

It’s a upgrade version, they always change one thing. With the saffiano tote, they added for the new BN a shoulder strap and less hardware.
I notice with Prada, the higher the BN goes, the bigger the size.

All at Paris CDG airport .
On 10 June 2013 , I’m devastated .
My sister could not purchase the bag when she arrives at Paris airport from Milan she could not go into the duty free .
She also could not purchase the bag when she departs home as she is in a different terminal , she could not go in the duty free area in a different terminal .
The staff could bring it over , but she can’t pay with credit card , only cash .
She has cash not more than 50 Euros .
Could not withdraw using the credit card as I would need to go to the bank personally to obtain a pin number , the banks are closed at that time in my country .
I am dead …
Your sis do not need to go into the duty free area. She can buy the bag in a boutique and have the tax refund claimed on the airport. This takes only a hour or so in total max.
This is really a sad story. And now? Is she coming back with empty hands?

The Prada bags that I was looking for is all out of stocks in Paris, Florence, Rome, Venice and Milan boutiques 🙁
I finally found them at the Paris airport store.
Called up and reserved the bag.
Unfortunately, when my sister arrived from Milan , she could not enter the duty free area.
She also could not enter when she departs for her flight home as it was in a different terminal.
The SA said she could only buy the bag in cash, he was helpful enough. She could not use the credit card as she is not in the store.
Unable to withdraw any cash, as I would need to go to the bank personally to obtain a pin number, the card was a supplementary from me she is still a student, could not apply for her own.
Bank was closed at that time in my country.
She indeed returned home empty handed…
It was a very sad journey, but I’m grateful I had you with me all the way.

Outlet always sell at lower price, but to find the bag you want depends on the luck. In Europe they have a Prada outlet in florence, if you are lucky enough, you find a bag cost €1,000, price at €400.

To be honest, I haven’t heard any price increase yet. The medium is the most famous pick, but have less space. The jumbo is a bit heavier, comes with a ‘double’ flap, have more space and you can easy structure your stuff inside. Picking the right size sometimes have to do with your height and personal preference. How tall are you btw?

My honest opinion: The bn1801 will be better for you considering your height, because bn2274 is bigger. I have seen some people purchasing bn2274, only to end up changing it back to bn1801. But you should try both sizes to see which one feels better.

If this is your first Saffiano Lux Tote, I would say go for the black. Black matches almost all outfit and you can carry it every day. My color priority are:
1. Black – match almost all outfits
2. Caramel – The saffiano lux tote is a chic bag and when it comes to chic you need to choose a color that matches the chic style. Caramel gives a calm, assertive feeling. Excellent for work (especially were formal clothes are compulsory )
3. Argilla – a bit mushroom color. Good match with formal clothes too or clothes with darker color. The argilla is an elegant mixed with chic color and matches almost all outfit too.
I haven’t heard that the Saffiano tote have a single zip. Most people who own this bag have double zip.

Hi Vialan, I saw that the double zip is a bit more popular than the single zip. I did some diggin’ and have read somewhere saying that single zip doesn’t hold it’s shape as good as the double zip. You want to take that in mind when purchasing.

Hi Charlene, I do not have experience in Prada, but I know this works in Louis Vuitton, you can buy in Paris and then exchange it in anywhere around the world as long as it is in their boutique. But if you want to return it, this can only be done in the same boutique you bought it. I belief this is also the same with Prada.

Price depend on the resellers. The BN1801 is priced at €1.420 and it should be the same in Greece. I am not sure about Hungary, I don’t think they have a boutique over there, but resellers.

Yes I do plan on getting one! I’ve been eyeing the Saffiano bn2274. However, the prices are kinda throwing me off. The Neiman Marcus website sells the bags but their prices are different from the Prada online store: $1810 vs 1995. Or maybe I’m reading the dimensions wrong, what are the dimensions to the Prada bn2274?

Must be the upgrade version. I don’t have record about the B1407L, they have just released it. It’s the same like the BN prada saffiano tote, they keep making new ones, but then better. The overall style was still the same.
Hi Purelove, forget about the Fuchsia mini, maybe try another color or the Prada Tessuto Gaufre. I just talked to our favo SA of Dior and they told me that you can’t find the small in Fuchsia mini in Rome and Paris. In these two cities, only the large version is available.

Personally I would prefer the ones without the M as the hardware makes the bag stands out .
Now the latest one BN1407L , I finally knew what’s the difference !
The zipper is not hidden like BN1407M , it has a huge gold zipper from left to right . Err … not very pretty in real life .

It’s a upgrade version, they always change one thing. With the saffiano tote, they added for the new BN a shoulder strap and less hardware.
I notice with Prada, the higher the BN goes, the bigger the size.

On 9 June 2013 , there are a 3 Tessuto Gaufre models circling my head , saying ‘pick me , pick me’ .
All at Paris CDG airport .
On 10 June 2013 , I’m devastated .
My sister could not purchase the bag when she arrives at Paris airport from Milan she could not go into the duty free .
She also could not purchase the bag when she departs home as she is in a different terminal , she could not go in the duty free area in a different terminal .
The staff could bring it over , but she can’t pay with credit card , only cash .
She has cash not more than 50 Euros .
Could not withdraw using the credit card as I would need to go to the bank personally to obtain a pin number , the banks are closed at that time in my country .
I am dead …
Your sis do not need to go into the duty free area. She can buy the bag in a boutique and have the tax refund claimed on the airport. This takes only a hour or so in total max.
This is really a sad story. And now? Is she coming back with empty hands?

The Prada bags that I was looking for is all out of stocks in Paris, Florence, Rome, Venice and Milan boutiques 🙁
I finally found them at the Paris airport store.
Called up and reserved the bag.
Unfortunately, when my sister arrived from Milan , she could not enter the duty free area.
She also could not enter when she departs for her flight home as it was in a different terminal.
The SA said she could only buy the bag in cash, he was helpful enough. She could not use the credit card as she is not in the store.
Unable to withdraw any cash, as I would need to go to the bank personally to obtain a pin number, the card was a supplementary from me she is still a student, could not apply for her own.
Bank was closed at that time in my country.
She indeed returned home empty handed…
It was a very sad journey, but I’m grateful I had you with me all the way.

Outlet always sell at lower price, but to find the bag you want depends on the luck. In Europe they have a Prada outlet in florence, if you are lucky enough, you find a bag cost €1,000, price at €400.

To be honest, I haven’t heard any price increase yet. The medium is the most famous pick, but have less space. The jumbo is a bit heavier, comes with a ‘double’ flap, have more space and you can easy structure your stuff inside. Picking the right size sometimes have to do with your height and personal preference. How tall are you btw?
Actually my friend was told by a reseller here (malaysia) that chanel price was increased, we have no idea how accurate the news is… Hope the price can hold till next month as I’m getting my friend to help me to get a chanel bag during her vacation in France for the coming mid of April.. I’m only 157cm, just adore the jumbo classic bag thought my height should go for medium right… 😀
Did you tried the jumbo on already? I have seen girls with your height carrying a jumbo and I think it’s cute. The size between jumbo and medium is just a tiny difference, as long as you don’t walk around with a MAXI!! =P

My honest opinion: The bn1801 will be better for you considering your height, because bn2274 is bigger. I have seen some people purchasing bn2274, only to end up changing it back to bn1801. But you should try both sizes to see which one feels better.

If this is your first Saffiano Lux Tote, I would say go for the black. Black matches almost all outfit and you can carry it every day. My color priority are:
1. Black – match almost all outfits
2. Caramel – The saffiano lux tote is a chic bag and when it comes to chic you need to choose a color that matches the chic style. Caramel gives a calm, assertive feeling. Excellent for work (especially were formal clothes are compulsory )
3. Argilla – a bit mushroom color. Good match with formal clothes too or clothes with darker color. The argilla is an elegant mixed with chic color and matches almost all outfit too.
I haven’t heard that the Saffiano tote have a single zip. Most people who own this bag have double zip.

Hi Vialan, I saw that the double zip is a bit more popular than the single zip. I did some diggin’ and have read somewhere saying that single zip doesn’t hold it’s shape as good as the double zip. You want to take that in mind when purchasing.
Do you have an idea which size you are going to buy?
