Longchamp x Nendo Katachi Bag collection
If you love handbags, then you can’t miss what we’re about to share. Longchamp is going to partner with Nendo to redesign some of their classic handbag collection like the Le Pliage Bag. This new series of accessories will be named the Katachi Collection.
Who is Nendo?
Nendo is a Japanese design studio that’s headed by Oki Sato. They create different of unique designs for furniture, lightning and other industrial designs and interiors.
The Le Pliage Bag was inspired by Japanese Origami and it’s famous because it’s light-weighed with a compact foldable shape. The price ranges were also very reasonable and the bag can be easily used for everyday use thanks to the solid material used.
According to Nendo’s comments; the Le Pliage handbags have 2 experiences. You can carry it as a bag but you can also fold it and roll away. Nendo will be offering a 3rd experience, which is adding new functions for when placing the bag in the house as a decoration item.
Here’s what Nendo is going to do:
The cube shaped bag will keep its geometric silhouette because of the detachable insole, which in turn can changed the bag into a flexible storage box when placed in a room.
The triangle shaped bag can easily connect to a hook and store small accessories when placed in a closet or on a rack. When hanged, it can be opened by the con-shaped leather top.
The round shaped bag will work like the Japanese wrapping cloth and can become flat when stored away. This will become a flexible bag, because when you use the bag, the size will adapt to the amount of essentials you’re going to store. Therefore it will be flexible on function while maximizing its capability.
More over, the collaboration will introduce 6 new colors and optional sizes. It will also maintain the iconic part of the Le Pliage Bag like maintaining the use of nylon fabric with leather handles and flap.
So we are really excited because we also think that the prices will be reasonable. We have understood the change in fashion with tech and art, but Nendo will open up a new category, which are fashion pieces used as home decoration.
