Recently, we received a question from our community, asking: ‘How to read a Chanel tag’. I thought it might worth pointing out. The Chanel tag has an important role in identifying the authenticity of the bag. You see, the date of birth of your Chanel bag is scripted on it and if it doesn’t relate to the seller’s story, you will instantly know it’s fake.
11P: represents the collection of the Chanel bags
08 represents 2008
09 represents 2009
10 represents 2010
11 represents 2011
12 represents 2012
And so on…
P represents Printemp or spring
A represents Autumn collection
S represents Summer collection
V represents Continuous line
C represents Cruis collection
In our example, 11P means 2011 Printemp/Spring collection.

Hi I have the same question as well. I have not seen this kind of cc flap bag before but Im really hesitant that it is real selling it to me for 2200. Pls see if this is just imitation of some sort it starts at 10D with no color name.

I will not go too deeply about the bag, I am not a professional authen., but isnt the Chanel tag a bit weird? The last two letters: WITHFLAP, where is the space. Shouldn’t it be WITH FLAP? If this is a manufacturer mistake, it’s a bad one. Chanel is very into the details. That’s all I am saying.

I purchased it through a reputated seller from Poshmark and it was $4500. It is the Chanel boy Chevron flap bag. I have been doing research it the bag seems very authentic but I just want to reassurance to rest my mind. Lol

The tag can’t indicate whether the bag is real or not and the best way to authentic your bag is to check the craftmanship. Its really into the details. Your bag looks very nice btw, I love your bag!
The bag itself is very nice and I am pretty sure it is authentic. I just have that 2% doubt since I bought it online you know. The leather is nice and soft. I love my new bag too. Thanks
Usually when its fake, its easily to see, but the leather on the picture and the details are so precise, it does really look authentic. I have little doubt about that. But you might want to walk into a Chanel boutique one day and just ask.

Hi Tracy, style code A26800 is the old Chanel jumbo flap bag in single flap. This one has been discontinued, the new one has the style code: A58600 which is a double flap.

Hi Yvette, I know this website Shop Hers, they authentic their bags before selling, its def. more safe than buying on Ebay.
Your serial number start with 15 and has 8 digits, yes its from the 2011 collection.
trying to find out value of the bag i still have tags on . code reads 99A A011115Y01931
so according to your post its autumn 1999 but i can’t find any info online about the bag ..

Hey Alex, thanks for the quick response. The pics are a little dark. I’m not sure if you can see but the bag has two pockets on the side. Inside is only one compartment with a side zipper compartment.
