Goyard Alpin Backpack
Goyard has several different Backpacks in their collection, but the most popular one is the Alpin Backpack. This backpack was first launched in December 2015 and was exclusively sold at the new pop-up store in Isetan Shinjuku in Japan. The popup store was named the L’Excursion Goyard.
That was long time ago, because this bag is now available for everyone. And the design is quite interesting, because there is a story behind it (and we love stories). This story makes the Alpin Backpack distinctive, read on.
When drawing and creating the Alpin Backpack, Goyard wanted to focus more on the practicability than on the attractiveness. They were inspired by the utilitarian elegance of the traditional packs carried by mountain hikers in the Alps in the late 19th and early 20th century.
This backpack is designed with the iconic Goyardine print in the center of the bag. The top and the bottom are crafted in smooth leather. The center features a buckle strap to open and close the interior. It also comes with a top handle for hand carry.
The Alpin Backpack is very flexible; you can carry it as a backpack, but also as a carry-on or a shoulder bag because it comes with an ingenious evolutive strap.
The usability of this backpack is the core of the design. This bag features a front pocket with zipped sides that give you access to the zipper and patch pockets. The cinch cord opens to the main compartment with patch pockets. The volume of this bag to hold your essentials is huge; you can store your laptop, documents and if you decide to use it as a travel backpack, you can put a lot of stuff inside.
