Between 2009 and 2024, Dior bags have increased in price consistently, on average by 9% per year. But it’s not happening every year, which is why most people are not aware of the price changes that have been made.
From 2009 to 2015, Dior bag prices went up averaging 10% per year. Then for the next 4 years until 2020, there were no major price changes. After 2020, Dior decided to speed up the price increase again, and the price rose by 10% annually. In 2021, there were 2 price increases: 6% in the first half of the year and 13.5% in the second half.
The chart is proof that Dior bags are a good investment because they hold value and become more expensive over time. But it’s not for all Dior handbags; usually, it’s only the classic bags that are better investments. If you had purchased the Lady Dior Bag in 2009, you would have paid $2,250 USD. The price is $6,500 USD in 2026. That’s an impressive 188% price surge over a period of 15 years.
I think for a classic bag, the Lady Dior Bag is still a good price, considering that it’s an iconic bag. And when compared to other designer brands like Chanel or Hermes, their classic bags are priced way higher. That doesn’t mean Dior wouldn’t make the Lady Dior Bag more expensive. In fact, I think in 2026, there will be a price surge again, which will put the Lady Dior Bag at a price range of $6,750 – $6,850 USD.

The cheapest places to buy Dior in Europe are Greece, Sweden and Finland, where the price is €5,900 and you can claim 25% tax back. The second cheapest place is Italy due to the VAT rate of 22%. Next comes France, Austria, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium, with VAT rates between 20 – 21%.
Dior prices are the same in Europe, except for a few countries. As a traveler, you can reduce your purchase costs by claiming a tax refund. Each country in Europe regulates its own VAT (VAT is sales tax in Europe). The higher the VAT, the more tax refund you can claim and thus the cheaper your Dior purchases.
The Dior bag prices in Norway are much higher than in other countries in Europe, but the potential tax refund is also higher, with a VAT rate of 25%. Dior bags are most expensive in the UK where the price of the Lady Dior Medium Bag is £5,300 GBP (equivalent to €6,200–€6,400) and you can’t claim a tax refund as a visitor. It’s not advised to buy Dior in Hong Kong. It’s the most expensive place to buy Dior bags – the retail prices are average, but there is no sales tax, so you can’t claim any tax back.
Thailand and Singapore are famous for traveling. Dior bags in both countries are quite expensive, especially in Singapore, because you can only claim 7% sales tax back.

Then the price needs to increase over the years, not only to inflict emotional pain on procrastinators, but it also makes the value of your bag go up, in both the retail market and the pre-owned market. If you had bought the Lady Dior Medium Bag in 2010, you would have spent only $2,500 USD. Today the same bag costs $6,500 USD. And she ‘has’ to buy the bag whenever she finds it, or else we might miss the chance. More, I don’t think she will hurt the bag, because she will be carrying it in a box. The Saffiano is beautiful but I do not like leather bags, my apology.
Maybe in a few years time I’ll start to love leather, lol!

I don’t know why my reply was not posted here a few days ago .
Anyway , I’m not sure whether she went to all 6 boutiques .
It was too crowded and she had to queue for an hour before she managed to go inside !
I got her to get a name card from the SA , i sent an email ,
in English and also a translated one in French with Google translate , but no reply 🙁
She is now in Florence .
OMG OMG, why did you sent an email? I hate sending email because reply can take at least a day and maybe never. You should just call them up.
Will she go back to Paris later on?

I can’t belief Dior SA can’t speak English. I had difficulties too with Chanel SA’s, but some did speak english.

I tried googling for it but could not find it.
It’s practically non-existant.
My sister is on Rome now.
I’m not gettingy hopes up, if could not find, at least I have a photo of it.
My back-up plans are not good also.
There are no Prada Tessuto Gaufre other than black and grey in Paris, and the Chanel SA refused
to give her card to my sister.
I guessed she could not be bothered with a sale for Biarritz bag.
I will try to post the Dior bag as soon as I figure out how to do it with my laptop.

Hi Purelove, I am sorry, I don’t have the Dior Panarea mini Fuchsia image. Why is she in a Chanel Boutique, I thought you were going to buy the Dior bag. Which color of the Prada Tessuto Gaufre were you looking for? The SA don’t want to get calls all day long, you should just call their boutique. I don’t think the Biarritz bag is something for you, to be honest.

They were too busy , so she didn’t ask them to call . And she was a little overwhelmed , she’s not used to going into luxury designer boutique .
The Dior micro is BEAUTIFUL but … out of my budget at the moment 🙁
And I would like to get a sort of “everyday” bag .
You see, it would be sad to not get the bag because she couldn’t go to another Dior. Maybe you can help her out and try to call them and ask. I am really looking forward for you having an Panarea mini bag =P.

She went to Prada and Chanel because if she can’t find the Dior Panarea mini in fuchsia, I
will get a Prada Tessuto Gaufrec and my last choice will be the Chanel Biarritz.

I would just call the boutiques up, and find one that speaks english. She can check if they are available in other stores too and the colors, just tell them you are going to Paris next week LOL.

There was a mix up with the Panarea Mini. Although my sister saw it in colours other
than the fuchsia, it was not the mini. It was the small.
The Dior SA in Paris replied to my email and I find something is off with the dimensions
she gave.
She said the smallest they have is 30cm.
The mini is 26.5cm.
I managed to get the model number from my local boutique and called Dior stores in Paris and Milan.
Apparently they don’t carry that size at all.
The model number is :

I was thinking of getting the mini in black if I could not get the Prada Tessuto Gaufre but

I am sorry to hear that, maybe you can visit it later. But I do recommend Paris for the best shopping experience. They have the famous Champs Elysées and Rue Cambon. You have to see it even if it’s just one time. But I think the Dior is also available in US.
I’ll visit Champs Élysées someday. Yes, Dior is also located in the United States, but I know there’s a Dior store that is in Aspen, Colorado.
