I will be cruising in Europe this summer. One of my stops is in Cannes and another is Venice, where should I buy my Chanel bag from? This is my first time in Europe, another question is: is the VAT refund a tedious process? I am departing from Heathrow, or would it be better if I made my purchase there?
It doesn’t matter actually, more important is that they have your bag in stock. You will get a lot more headache if they don’t hv the bag you want. When you find it, just buy it. But in Italy you can get more tax-refund, it was 14 percent or so. French a 12 percent.
About Heathrow, check T3, there is a Chanel boutique selling handbags. These bags are tax-free and much cheaper than buying in stores.
