It is time to bow down to one amazing fashion house and possibly one of the best all round bags known to woman. This bag is not your bog standard black; this deerskin super supple bag is slightly grey, it is softer than black which is perfect for wearing with black clothing without looking like Morticia Addams but it also would not over bear a cream or white outfit. It looks like a handbag, but it also looks like a travel bag or even a shoulder bag, but hey, who said that categorizing was important? Prada have flattened all boundaries so that you can use this bag for what you will. Go shopping or to the cinema with friends and wear it on your shoulder with the long strap, or even take it off and take it to a business meeting or a weekend away. Multiple compartments inside allow for organization and easy packing of smaller items, the golden d ring features and Prada logo match the coloring of this bag perfectly.
Pick anything in your wardrobe and it will go; those expensive skinny jeans and pumps? Yes go for it, or even that colorful maxi dress and sandals, your loose linen trousers, pencil skirt and killer heels, whatever you have got, it will go. I love my black Prada Cervo bag. I bought it in 2009 at Heathrow Airport on my way to NYC specifically for work and to carry a 17 inch laptop (this was before the I-Pad craze). I bought the largest size in black deerskin and it is the best designer bag I have bought to date. From recollection, it wasnt that expensive either for the sheer quality of the leather and the classic design: about £600. It is made of deerskin which means if it gets soaking wet in the rain, nothing will happen to it. You just let it dry out. The interior is a beautiful pastel pink leather to add that subtle feminine touch. It has one large zip pocket and one small popper pocket for business cards. What I love about this bag is that I can fit everything into it: large laptop, work files, wallet, large phone, make-up bag, etc and there is still plenty of room. The leather is so hard wearing, there’s still not a single scratch on it and it has been everywhere: planes, boats, buses and the hectic streets of London. I have taken it to court ( I am a lawyer) and it has gained me compliments from my female clients and my secretaries are after it! When I dont have a lot ot carry, I just fasten the poppers on each side of the bag and tighten the buckles and the bag instantly shrinks in size. It is so versatile. My only (tiny)criticism is that the handles on the model I have are not very long and you struggle to comfortably wear the bag on the shoulder if you are wearing a winter coat. It is a subtle elegant and practical designer handbag, perfect for working professionals who want to gain a bit of street cred with their clients and want a luxury brand on their arm without making a song and dance about it. This bag should be added to the “Must Have” all time classic designer handbag list. It oozes quality.
