The original Hermes Herbag was discontinued a long time ago, but the brand took another look at the design and decided to reissue. They re-released the Hermes Herbag in 2009 and added the term ‘Zip’ to its name, to avoid confusion.

Hi Alex I was in London 3 weeks ago, walked into Sloane Str store and asked SA if she had a Herbag by any chance. She said they got one in that morning and it is for sale. I nearly pee’d my pants! It’s a navy 31 and of course I didn’t hesitate to buy her! Paid £1490 got back I think £200 in tax at the airport. Such a beautiful addition to my collection.

FYI: I was at both Hermes store in Paris and they did not have any herbag available. In fact the St Honore store didn’t have any of the bags I wanted. My friend did buy a men’s wallet and the US conversion is about less than $1400 USD and the store advised that the tax refund is 10%. I finally found the Herbag in Barcelona at El Corte Ingles (see above comment). It was the only one left.

Oh and the store in Paris advised they don’t do wait list anymore but they could be just saying that because it was overwhelming for them since there was long line (queue) of people waiting to buy. It was extremely busy and not a really pleasant shopping experience where we normally would at least offered water (champagne at some places). Oh well. At least I have my bags now 🙂

I thought they had 1 Hermes store in Barcelona, it’s funny that you couldn’t get it in Paris, But then again, a lot of tourist go to Paris just to buy designer bags and they go to Barcelona for the weather.

It is such an awesome site, and I have been following your site. I was looking for herbag zip 31 for a long time. I am newbie to Hermes and thought to try my luck in Paris.
I went to Paris FSH last week and spoke to the SA. I wanted a orange one and showed her the photo of it, and she checked and told me they didn’t have stock. I was told to try my luck in another store in Paris. Then, I walked around the store, asking another SA, hoping to try my luck. She ask me for the size and color, and I told her, mentioning that I really yearn to have it. Finally, she mentioned that they have 1 in yellow, she went in the back and bring it out. It is in orangey yellow, and I really love it at first sight. Without further consideration, I bought it. It is ard 1600 euros. I am very lucky.
Here some tips: The SA told me that they do stocks in bags almost every day in Paris, for those who want to buy the bags, you can pop by and might be lucky to find your bag. Gd luck.

I absolutely love this bag! I was debating another celine or a new givenchy but I’m sold on this Hermes herbag as soon as I saw it on your website! More pics are coming on… I was told about the Hermes Herbag Zip that you need to get on the waiting list for one year. (this is the case of one of our readers) But this bag is not like the Birkin or Kelly, you might be lucky and find one in Europe.

I can’t believe my eyes when I walked into the El Corte Ingles in Barcelona and saw the Herbag Zip 39 waiting on the display for me after just visiting the two Hermes stores in Paris and getting disappointed. The cost in Barcelona is 1700 Euro and the color I have is a brownish color. I was hoping the same color pictures on this page but the color I have will match everything so I’m happy with it. There is a 14% tax refund at this mall because the price is between 1500-2000 euro. It depends on the price. Before today I was so disappointed I actually ended up getting the two tone blue/black chanel crave (13% refund) They still had it even though its old from last season. Saw it in Singapore just 6 months ago. I also ended up getting the medium Givenchy Antigona (1550 euro) in light grey at the galeries de lafayette (13% refund). I can list my friends purchase after dinner but wanted to updated as soon as possible. Thank you for an awesome site!!!

– The Herbag has a lot of features similar to the Kelly, but if you decide to get the Kelly in the future, you will have two bags that look similar.
– The Herbag style is easier, more like casual and minimal.
– The Lady Dior bag is very elegant, but it can be worn either casual or chic.

For the Herbag Zip bag you can, but the Birkin and Kelly are hard-to-say. For example, someone commented at our site lately that she bought the Birkin in Paris, but there was just one left. You should call the boutique to check their stock.
I think both sizes are great, you should compare which one is more comfortable to your height.

Hi, yes of course.
Say the bag cost €1.400, that’s with tax included. Paris tax-refund is around 12%, that’s 168 EUR.
Your friend buy the bag in Hermes and tell the SA ‘I am tourist and I am going to apply for tax-refund’. The SA will write a ‘special’ receipt, which contains specific information about the bag, like prices and origin. Before your friend leave the country, he needs to go to the custom at the airport. He shows the’special’ receipt, fill in an application form, then the custom personally ‘check’ the Hermes bag. And if everything is oke, your friend gets a stamp on the form.
He takes the form to a tax-refund company (also located at the Airport), it’s usually an external/affiliate company. And then the tax-refund will be processed. He will get 168 EUR on his bank account.
Your friend ‘have to’ SHOW the goods to the custom before he can get a stamp. If he check-in his luggage too early with your Hermes bag inside, then you will not get the stamp.

Thanks a lot! The bag is available in more colors than the rainbow: pink, brown, yellow, orange, purple, beige, red, black, blue, white. You should call-up your local hermes store to ask about the availability. The bag is made from canvas and hunter leather and includes a removable zipped flat pouch. I am not sure whether the strap is removable. I don’t think so. Keep us updated.
