While the bag is designed with the iconic Goyardine Canvas, the center features a playful cartoon picture. This illustration is inspired by the Chic Du Chien, the name that Edmond Goyard gave to accessories for pets in the 1890’s.
The illustration is a reproduction of part of an illustration that was signed by a famous caricaturist form the Belle Epoque period for Goyard Brochure, showing Hulot, the dog of Edmond Goyard that’s reading a book. Hulot was French bulldog.
