Discontinued Bag #7: Louis Vuitton Monogram Sac Shopping Large Tote
A discontinued bag doesn’t mean it’s a classic. And while I can understand that limited editions exist, I still wonder why some bags get wiped out of the shelter. Perhaps because they aren’t H.O.T. anymore, or because they have created an ‘new’ version of the same bag. Looking at the Louis Vuitton Monogram Sac Shopping Tote, it remind me of someone I know.
A part of the design and functionality reminds of the famous LV never full. The Sac shopping tote is much large in length, while the never full is bigger in width. I bet the Sac is large enough to call it a never full, but it doesn’t take away the fact that the ‘real’ never full is more comfortable to carry. Especially if you pick the right size vs your length, it doesn’t drop all the way to your thigh like the SAC does. Besides the style is much more modern and material more attractive.
The double leather handles of Sac convince me that it’s strong enough to NEVER crack. Though it has never happened to me so far, I feel like the neverfull handles are too thin. I am a bit scared that it will break anytime soon. Personally I wouldn’t use the Sac as an everyday bag, but it is excellent for traveling. On the other hand, I simply can’t get enough of the neverfull.
For the curious bag lovers, the sac shopping tote was retailed for $1,400. Size: 14 x 5.5 x 20 inches and made from brown monogram canvas.
