And when you think you’ve seen it all, a brand-new Chanel Wallet On Chain Bag pops out from nowhere. Yes, it’s a new-new WOC because the shape is different, but it has the same classic look.
Last time the house created an innovative mini bag was the downsized WOC. It looked like a phone holder but its not. The design is quilted, with the interlocking CC logo on the front, just like the Classic Quilted WOC.
If you’ve considered purchasing the Classic Quilted WOC, but always thought that the size was too small, now it’s your chance to grab a distinctive version. We do not know whether this bag will be part of the classic collection, so when this season is over, we might never see it again.
The design
The Square Classic Quilted Wallet On Chain Bag is made with diamond quilting, mini interlocking CC logo and woven leather chain strap, but with leather strap for the comfort. It has the same classic look like the Classic Flap Bag and the Classic Quilted WOC.
The major difference is the size; this bag is taller and can store much more essentials. And even tough it’s bigger, it’s still ideal to use as an evening bag. However, you cannot compare this bag to the M/L Medium Classic Flap Bag, it’s just too small.
The interior
Just like any Chanel WOC, the inside is structured and designed with multiple pockets to get your items organized. More over, there is a zip pocket, central compartment and credit card slots. The front pocket fits an iPhone 7+.

Both bags are stunning, timeless and chic. The new Squared Classic Quilted WOC is not that much bigger than the original version. It’s taller, which makes it feel and look different. There are also other elements that make the Squared WOC distinctive. Let’s talk about that.
The sizes
Now let’s compare this Squared WOC to the original Classic Quilted WOC. The Squared WOC is measured 5.7’ x 6.7’ x 2.4’ inches. The original Classic Quilted WOC is measured 4.8’ x 7.6’ x 1.4’ inches. So here you can see that the Squared WOC is taller and larger in depth. But in terms of width, the original Classic Quilted WOC is bigger.
The shoulder straps
There’s more. The original Classic Quilted WOC features all woven chain leather strap. This design resembles to the Classic Flap Bag. The Squared Classic Quilted WOC is also made with woven chain leather strap, but it features an extra leather to carry with comfort.
The leathers
The most popular leathers for the original Classic Quilted WOC are caviar and lambskin. Caviar is extremely durable, but it’s also very hard. The lambskin is fragile but super soft. The new Squared Classic Quilted WOC is made from grained calfskin, which is a different leather option. Calfskin is durable, but not as hard as caviar. And the grainy leather feels luxurious.

The sizes
First, let’s compare the sizes. The Chanel Square Classic Quilted WOC is measured 5.7’ x 6.7’ x 2.4’ inches. The Chanel Mini Square Flap Bag is measured 5.3’ x 6.7’ x 3.1’ inches. Can you see the difference?
The Chanel Square Classic Quilted WOC is even taller than the Mini Square Flap Bag. The length is the same. But the depth of the Mini Square Flap Bag is bigger, which is not surprising at all. The WOC is supposed to be flatter because it resembles a wallet unlike the Mini Flap Bag.

I just bought this bag 2 weeks ago in black calf skin with light gold hardware. I’ve been using it everyday and this size is perfect for: 8 credit cards, LV 6 ring key holder, Prada sunglasses, lip balm, tictac, iPhone 6. The cons are: missing the back pocket and love letter pocket to hide things, the leather middle piece on the strap always needs to adjusted while wearing it, and the card slots are loose so my cards fall out when reaching for things in the bag.
I just bought this bag few weeks ago in caviar with silver hardware.. it does fit an I phone 6 plus just so you guys know .. I fit my phone in the back slot no problem .. it has a lot of room and I even store my sunglasses keys lipstick no problem .. I can compare this bag to more or the mini version than classic wallet on chains just because It just has more room and it expands a lot. You can also make it a shoulder bag and a clutch if you want .. I think for a clutch it’s wonderful since the square clutches are in anyway and it really has character .. and it is so different from other WOC.. I’ve been wearing it practically everyday and ladies stop and ask me when I purchased this Chanel style … if you are a lady that wants to stand out and is fashion forward then this is your style ..

So far I’ve only seen the grain calfskin in black and red at Neiman’s. According to this article this longer/newer WOC is grained calfskin. I thought it was caviar because it feels just like my Maxi Classic. I’m hard on my purses so this one looks like it will hold up just like my other caviar WOC’s or larger classics. Also, this WOC fits the iPhone 6. It’s just a little bigger than the older models but I wouldn’t try and jam too many items in it because you’ll damage the magnetic button closure and it won’t close properly (luckily Neiman’s repaired my older version caviar WOC at no charge.) I’ve also received many compliments on the bag. It’s small, yet stunning.
