Valentino Fall Winter 2013 Bag Collection

Absolutely rough, that’s how Valentino named their tote bags in strawberry-red. The ad campaign F/W 2013 collection was inspired by the painters like Johannes Vermeer and the famous ‘Flemish Floral Still Life’ paintings from the 17th Century. It takes us back to the elegant royal medieval lifestyle with flower printed dresses and vintage paintings where the Valentino clutch is found on the dinner table between candles, fruits and vegetables. The images were shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Binoodh Matadin.

Valentino has made us notice in their F/W release that they are more than designers of rock stud bags. They introduced series of clutches and totes in new styles and expanded beyond their comfort zone. The most popular bag so far is the soutache tote, caught with beautifully flower curve patterns and will bring brightness and light to the fall season. The Valentino Garavni tote is another eye-catcher, it’s more like vintage meets modern, introducing a new shape with a vintage-inspired frame top.

The future trend seems to set their marks on the frame tops. Mulberry recently introduced the Suffolk bag to expand their market share and bringing new styles to their collection. Emma Hill said in one of the interviews that the frame tops are new to them. The frames also remind us of the iconic Fendi 2Jours bag.
