Should You Feel Awkward Carrying A Chanel To Work?

Should-You-Feel-Awkward-Carrying-A-Chanel-To-Work-1

Not long ago, I received an interesting question from a member. She asked:

I bought a Chanel bag two weeks ago and took it to work the next day. I was very happy and never expected any consequences. But I was feeling awkward because my colleagues were behaving weird. It’s like they were jealous or something. So I left it at home since then. What do you think?

I think a lot of people have the similar experience. But I do not think that you should feel awkward at all. You deserve the Chanel bag, because you have worked hard for it. Your colleagues has the equal opportunity to treat themselves a nice bag, but they might decide to save it in their bank or spend it all on holidays. That’s their decision, they don’t hear you complaining right? And spending 2 weeks in a 4 to 5 star hotels is considered a luxury.

By the way, a Chanel bag is a better investment than going on vacation. At least the values go up and not down.
Boys love expensive, fast cars and love to flaunt them. Why can’t we love handbags and be a bit braggy from time to time.

But if you don’t feel comfortable bringing your Chanel bag to work, then leave it home. But do not me scared to take it to work whenever you feel you want to. They will never understand our lust for handbags.

I have a friend who felt awkward to carry Chanel bag around friends, because they were less fortunate. She is not a bitch or a cocky girl, but she just love luxury and she can afford it. So whenever they go shopping, she just has to visit Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Celine and Hermes. Everyone has different life style and mindset. It’s okay to walk with Chanel bags, you don’t need to feel awkward at all.

And if it still bother you, then choose another everyday bag. Marc Jacobs is less expensive and they look great too. Mix your handbags up to match the situation your are in.

More, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Burberry handbags are also very common nowadays. I see everyone carrying them. I love the speedy and neverful. I think it’s okay to carry one with friends who don’t buy luxury goods. But Chanel… Everyone knows that their bags cost at least $3,000 and Hermes bag prices are jumping over the roof.

Any girls have the same experience?

  1. thank you for this post! I do get what the member was saying. i felt the exact same thing, its like a case, bagsism(hating someone because of a bag)… i have colleague telling me that she hates me because im young and i own a chanel. Well, she said it in a jokingly manner, but we all know theres always a certain truth to that…. Yes, the chanel was a rare gift( n i appreciate that). but hate is too strong a word to be used, no? we were not born with a silver spoon and we save up for all luxury items, i dont see why people needs to say things or behave in such manner. We are all envy of a certain someone at a certain point of life, but theres a thin fine line between envy and jealous..

    • I appreciate your comment, I feel the same way. Some colleague look at me like ‘why is she buying such expensive bag’. Other thinks I am obsessed in expensive luxuries or that I am spoiled. I am not, I worked hard for my stuff. I get comments all the time like I could buy 100 bags instead of your Chanel. Or money is not the important thing in the world.

  2. at Chaneljumbo “you pity them becuz they cant buy chanel”

What an irgnorant comment. Many people choose to not spend their money on a handbag, I grew up dirt poor and now that I can afford to buy luxury handbags I do, but I still can understand that some people choose not to, or they just don’t care for them. I pity your lack of compassion and understanding of others…look within, you probably value your selfworth based on what you have, but trust me, that can all be lost in a second!
