Munich is a city in Germany and it’s also near Austria and Switzerland. Munich has a lot of designer brands, so it’s definitely a must-go if you’re travelling around Europe. And if you’re at the Munich airport, you might want to do some shopping there too. They have luxurious boutiques including Hermes, Gucci, Tods and more. Although the boutiques are tiny, you can still find a lot of accessories like scarf, shawls and even bags at Hermes. The SA’s are very friendly and helpful.
From my experience, the stores at Munich airport are not duty free. Which basically means that the prices of the items are included with VAT. If the items were sold without VAT, then you don’t need to apply for tax refund. But if the items are included with VAT, then do not forget to apply for tax refund before you leave the EU.
Shopping at Terminal 2
The boutiques are located at Thermal 2 and most of them at Gate H and Gate G. You can find the majority of your favorite stores like Hermes at Gate G. If you need a luggage or an extra travel, you can shop at Tumi. You can also find cosmetic stores like MAC and Kiko.
