Perfume clutches are not fashion pieces that make people lift their eyebrows, not anymore. You are perfectly safe and trend-secured when taking one to your evening date. Perhaps it can be used as a conversation starter or add interest to your total look. Ever since Coco Chanel created the first high-end perfume in 1921, it has somehow influenced fashion designers to follow the same path. And if you’ve noticed recently, there’s a trend going on; all inspired by perfume flacons.
Charlotte Olympia is already doing it, the spring summer 2013 release included three perfume clutches inspired by vintage Parisian perfumes. These clutches are not just an ‘evening bag’, they are retailing for $1,250 a piece. Then we spotted Lanvin celebrating their 85th year of Andree Fraysee’s fragrance by introducing the new Lanvin Arpege minaudiere. Elegantly designed in black with gold handle and gilt clasp. Price? $3,600. Ridiculous? Not if you are a Lanvin fan. But at the end, it’s where your heart sets that creates the greatest impact. If your intuition is directing you to Chanel, then you will certainly love the new No.5 Chanel clutch bag from the cruise 2014 collection. It has the same amount of history like the 2.55 reissue bag, and without a doubt the no.5 is an iconic of its own. Well known by wealthy people and every serious fashionista around the world, this clutch is a true statement maker.
Alex Chung couldn’t contain herself, she was spotted holding the no. 5 perfume clutch while attending the GQ awards. The clutch didn’t looked oversized, but more like a giant diamond on her hand beautified with interwoven chain links. We are not sure about the price yet, but we are expecting it to be around $7,000 – $10,000.
