I have been up-to-date with Chanel for quite some time. Whenever I see a bag that looks like one from the past, I immediately know which one it is.

This brand-new piece from the recent Fall Winter 2019 Collection immediately reminds me of the Chanel New Clutch Bag. I remember we wrote a piece in 2013. Anyway, this is how the New Clutch Bag looks like:

I looked at the shape and the design, it looks very similar. Of course the new version has been altered, for example it features a new quilted cover and the logo is also different.

Chanel New Clutch versus New Mini Bag

The New Clutch Bag is a size bigger than the New Mini, but it’s much larger. The New Clutch Bag measures 5.1’ x 8.3’ x 3’ inches while the New Mini Bag is sized at 5’ x 8’ x 2’ inches. Perhaps this is also the reason why Chanel decided to discontinue the New Clutch Bag a few years ago. They’re both very similar.

Just a note, the New Clutch Bag was considered one of the Classics thanks to the look. Also it was priced at $2600 USD in 2013 compared to this new style of $4000 USD. Now that’s a big price increase!
