Belief it or not, he says it. Coco Chanel would hate my work, she would hate my strategy. He changed the whole company around and re-creates the strategy. The Chanel brand was founded by Coco Chanel in 1909 and he is sure she would not agree with what he did.

The owner of the company wasn’t very happy with the business. He was at the moment thinking about selling it, so he said to Karl. ‘I am not fond of the business’. He asked Karl to make something out of it. If Karl failed, then Chanel might never have been what it was today.

Karl had all the freedom and support of the owner. He updated the Label and did something what Coco Chanel would never do, in fact he says; she would hated it.

During the interview for a documentary in CNN he talked about his success. ‘I am a walking label, my actual name is Laberfeld, not lagerfeld’ he says.

I think what he have done for Chanel is remarkable and there is so much to learn.
